During the 25 years the house was owned by Mark Ethridge, former publisher of the Louisville Courier-Journal, and his wife, Willie Snow Ethridge, author of many books including several written about living in Prospect, the high-society couple hosted such celebrities as John Steinbeck and Benny Goodman.

Today, the community of Prospect enjoys "Boomsday," its Fourth of July family-friendly celebration with suburban Jefferson County's largest fireworks show, and the mayor's "Great Pun'kin' Paintin' Contest" and costume parade offer more family fun for Halloween.
